Small and micro business owners adding to their customer base

According to a recent survey conducted by Vistaprint, a provider of marketing products to small businesses, 46 percent of micro business owners are expecting to turn a higher revenue than last year, demonstrating that many businesses are expanding their customer base.

Small businesses are building up their customer bases through social media sites and websites. The survey found 90 percent of respondents believe it is imperative to have a website, while 56 percent have a Facebook page for their small business.

"Business is picking up, but according to our survey, 42 percent of micro business owners are working more hours while holding or improving their customer numbers," said Don LeBlanc, chief marketing officer for Vistaprint. "The continued dedication of micro business owners reflects a resiliency and shows how dedicated they are to succeed."

Growing customer bases are leading to small business owners being more content with their firms. According to the survey, 77 percent of respondents said they happy with their business, while 85 percent are finally experiencing the benefits of running their own firms.

While business may be improving for many small business owners, they still need to make sure they are protected with small business insurance in case any problems arise in the workplace.
