Retailers must be able to accommodate the shift toward mobile commerce

Businesses must be sure they are able to adjust to the times, and that includes the growing shift toward mobile commerce that is currently occurring in the retail world. According to a recent infographic put together by BigCommerce, roughly half of Americans are interested in using mobile wallets as a payment method.

Men and women consumers have different preferences when it comes to the mobile devices they use when making their mobile purchases. Fifty-nine percent of men said they make purchases on their phones, while 77 percent use tablets to buy products.

"Price competition has been a driving force in ecommerce trends and mcommerce is giving shoppers exponentially more control over their shopping experience," Brianne Brewer, the social media overseer for BigCommerce, wrote in the company's blog. "Ensure your business is prepared for the shifting environment and don't get left behind."
