Part of the TechInsurance Group L.L.C. family of companies, Business Insurance Now was launched in December 2000 to provide a trustworthy, convenient resource for the owners of small businesses that need affordable insurance.
Business Insurance Now evolved out of a company formed in 1997, TechInsurance, which focuses on insurance for the owners of technology businesses such as computer consulting firms and Web service providers. When TechInsurance found itself turning away small businesses outside of the technology industry, the company decided to start a second business to address the insurance needs of other professional businesses.
The company’s vision for both companies was the same: to provide exceptional insurance value to clients, and to be a trusted advisor offering a high level of efficiency, expertise and understanding of the risks unique to small businesses.
Partnering with leading insurers
As one of the first online insurance sites serving small businesses, Business Insurance Now was initially interested in learning which types of small businesses wanted to buy insurance online. The immediate response from professional services providers – including management consultants, marketing consultants, architects, engineers and accounting firms – was overwhelmingly positive.
The company attributes its success to a business model that efficiently matches the needs of each type of small business with affordable policies from top insurers.
