As a custom programmer or systems integrator, it can often be difficult to turn exactly what your client is asking you for, into a successful project. As the project moves forward, the focus and scope of the programming might change, but it is important to keep your projects under control by communicating with the client at all times.
Turning your client’s expectations into a successful programming project is easier said than done. Keep in mind that a lot of your clients are not as technologically savvy as you are; therefore it is important to explain certain elements in layman’s terms. If your customer does not understand certain nuances with the project, they will not fully understand the value of your work. This can lead to a gap between what is actually delivered and what is perceived to have been delivered. By closing this gap, you will have more success with each of your customer’s projects.
